58% of Employees Say Their Current Job Is the Main Source of Their Mental Health Challenges
With so much happening right now, it’s extremely important that Managers and Business Leaders remember that their employees are doing their absolute best to show up every day — despite their burnout, what’s going on in the news, and the ongoing pandemic.
Recent research by Qualtrics uncovered that:
- Nearly 7 in 10 working Americans feel burned out, with little distinction between work and life.
- 20% of remote employees say they begin their workdays earlier than before
- 18% take fewer sick days, and 17% believe they are working more than they did before.
This report also uncovered that more than half of employees are looking for more flexibility in their working schedules.
Employees mentioned that having access to a flexible work schedule positively impacts their company engagement and their mental health.
With all these details in mind, I can’t stress enough how important it is to lead with empathy and compassion. Make time to connect with your teams meaningfully and encourage your colleagues to take the time out they need. Please, take a moment to check in with one another, even if your official 1:1 meeting is not scheduled for this week.
