And the funny thing (well, not really) is that all we got were red flags on Hiring Managers and Biased Interview Processes. Ha!

I often say that Hiring Managers don’t really know what they are doing.
Don’t get me wrong, they might be fantastic at their job, but they all need help and training when it comes to interviewing and hiring.

Some Hiring Managers learned about interviewing on the fly, by mirroring other Hiring Managers, or by reading outdated books. Sometimes, they even show up to interviews unprepared.

And it’s usually not their fault. Hiring Managers rarely receive interviewing training, so they do what they can. Or what they think they should do.
Don’t believe me?

These are some of the most outrageous “red flags” they mentioned just a few days ago.

  • “Do the interview first thing in the morning. If they are groggy/slow, they don’t want the job bad enough.”
  • Asking about the salary before an interview.
