I’m Calling It: Forcing Your Employees to “Return to the Office” Will Hurt Your Company

Sure, getting to work alongside your teams can be amazing. You get to collaborate face-to-face, build meaningful connections, get free coffee and snacks, and even foster creativity and innovation when the environment is just right.

But, If there’s something we should have learned during these past two years is that your employees can and should be trusted.

Your teams have adapted to “work from home” during a global pandemic that heavily impacted their mental health, well-being, economic situation, and access to supporting resources and communities.

I want to believe that we’ve also learned the importance of a diverse and inclusive workforce. I really want to believe that the countless unconscious bias training, allyship sessions, and awareness resources made an impact. But when I read that companies are forcing employees to return to the office, I realized that little to no impact was made.

So, here’s a quick (and by no means comprehensive) list of all the amazing talent you’ll be losing…
