As someone who works in ED&I and Talent, I honestly can’t wait for the salary transparency laws to go into effect. They will change everything we know about interviewing and hiring, and as such, I want to ensure you have all the information you’ll need moving forward.

So, you have an interview lined up, and you already know what the job pays because it’s advertised in the job description. (Yay!).

What should you do now?

The first thing to remember is that you won’t be able to negotiate a higher salary than whatever was advertised. Keep that in mind and try to get as much info as you can at the beginning of the process.

With that important piece of information out of the way, let’s cover what you’d need to do before and during the interview process. Ok, let’s go!
