Getting ghosted often makes us wonder if we did something wrong. So, allow me to put my many years of experience into practice and share what happens behind the recruitment scenes.
Ok, before we get started, let’s make this very clear: ghosting is disrespectful. It’s unprofessional, and it damages the candidate experience and the employer brand beyond repair… but it happens more than we’d like to admit.
What I’m doing here today is sharing all the details I have about the recruitment process behind the scenes, so you can make an informed decision about your interview, the offer you just received, and the company culture. I’m not excusing this behavior.
With that out of the way, I’d also like to remind you that getting ghosted as a candidate is not your fault. Unless, of course, you’ve been a very rude human being and treated anyone and everyone in the hiring process with the utmost disrespect.
