My 5 Favorite DE&I Books of the Year Were Not Diversity Books at All
…, and that’s why I can’t recommend them enough!
ED&I books are great.
They help me ground my work and my thoughts.
They challenge me and my knowledge and help me see things in a new light.
I can’t get enough of them, and, in all honesty, I hope I get to write one soon.
But there’s something I love more than ED&I books!
Books that are not necessarily about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work but that will take my ED&I understanding, knowledge, purpose, and commitment to a completely new level.
My book recommendations this year are not comfortable reads.
They will challenge you and push you forward. They will ask you to put aside so many of the things you think you know or grew up knowing. These books will shatter some of your worldviews and will encourage you to find new ones. Hopefully, they will inspire you to tear down some of your own biased beliefs and help you rebuild them, from a more inclusive point of view.
Before we get started, please note that not all my recommendations were published in 2022. Some of them are a bit older, but I just got to them this year!
