How to Add Your Gaming Skills to Your Resume

I was recently interviewed by La Nacion — the largest newspaper in Argentina — and we talked about how the younger generations are adding some of their gaming skills to their resumes.

WAIT… WHAT?

This is probably the most interesting and fun media interview I did in a while. I had the chance to speak about my love for inclusive hiring and my love for video games. A DREAM!

Among other things, we talked about how gaming can teach us a few transferable skills that we can later use during our job search and job interviews. Or even better, at our actual jobs!

While I don’t recommend adding “gaming” as a skill to your resume — unless, of course, it’s 100% related to the job! — I do recommend focusing on the transferrable skills you learn while playing.

For example, if you live in a non-English speaking country and you had the opportunity to improve your second language skills by playing online with English-speaking friends, you should totally use that to your advantage!

… or if you were responsible for managing online communities and activities via Discord or Twitch you should mention that too. See? All transferable skills you…
