If you’ve been following my content for a while, I think that by now, you already know that I’m:

  • A Latina Immigrant in the United States
  • An Advocate for Pay Equity
  • An Advocate for Pay Transparency
  • An ED&I Professional
  • Someone that can’t shut up about any of the above

With that quick reminder out of the way, I want to have a raw, open, and honest conversation with you all, especially if you’re an ED&I ally or starting the allyship journey.

This conversation might be uncomfortable for some, but that’s also part of the allyship path. Being and feeling uncomfortable it’s crucial for your growth and experience. So come on in, take a seat, and let’s have an awkward chat.

Today, December 8th, is Latina Equal Pay Day. This means that today is the day when Latina Women in the United States “catch up” with a white man’s salary… for the previous year. Yes, a whole twenty

White women get to “celebrate” their Equal Pay Day in March. Us? In December.
